"Once is all it takes" - A family learning event

Friday 30 August 2024 - Ramsgate Football Club - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Thant District Council's Safer Neighbourhoods (Community Safety) team is helping to coordinate an event for families and individuals.

The following agencies will be present and will be holding interactive learning opportunities on topics such as :

  • RNLI -  tombstoning as well as safety while at the coast.
  • Network Rail and South Eastern - trespass on the lines / railway safety
  • SECAMs - first aid practical advice on what to do in a emergency 
  • KFRS - fire setting - attending road traffic accidents when drink/drugs have been involved and much more 
  • Kent Police - one punch is all it takes - taking a knife out on the street once is all it takes - drink /drug driving once is all it takes and the impact around these topics. 

There are also lots of other agencies attending who offer support to the victims and their families of tragic incidents as well as supportive services, such as We are with you young person drug and alcohol services, Forward Trust adult alcohol and drug service, Catch 22 gangs and county lines, Kooth mental health services and NHS mental health services for adults and many more. As the event takes place at Ramsgate Football club, there will be activities for people to take part in if they wish, such as boxing, football, pickleball and much more (details below).
