On Wednesday 23 February, we were delighted to welcome nearly 100 Year 11 students from local schools to Dane Court. Our senior team spent a very enjoyable evening in one to one meetings with some very talented, ambitious and impressive young people, who were keen to discuss the International Baccalaureate course most-suited to them. In an increasingly competitive university and work environment for young people, it is little wonder that more Year 11s than ever before are keen to enrol on the most extensive and flexible programme of sixth form study available anywhere in the UK. With 940 hours of direct teaching time per academic year available at Dane Court, the IB continues to enhance its global reputation as the world's elite further education qualification.
We are delighted that so many local young people are keen to study with us, and It is no surprise that the majority are set on the IB Diploma, a programme with a track record of helping 40% of its students achieve a place at a top university, compared to 24% of their A level counterparts. It is likewise no surprise that the IB Careers Programme, which prepares students equally well for university, salaried degree apprenticeships, or a wide range of other paid higher level apprenticeships or work opportunities, continues to prove such an attractive alternative proposition.
In the meantime, why not watch this video to hear from some of our former students about exactly where Dane Court and the IB can take you:
