There are over 100 sixth form students taking science subjects at Dane Court this year. They all took part in the Group 4 Project, an activity designed to provide them with an opportunity to develop their teamwork skills and explore a scientific topic in some depth.
Teams of students work on a research style project then create presentations of their work culminating in a Science Fair at the end of the week.

As always, Dane Court sports day was a brilliant success thanks to the willing cooperation of all the staff and students. In fact, the event spans three days with the Pentathlon taking place on Monday for year nine and year ten students. The throwing and jumping field events taking much of Tuesday and Wednesday is reserved for the running events and team games.
Sorrento took the House Cup this year with a substantial lead.
Download the pdf PE department's first edition of their Sports Report (1.22 MB) in newsletter format for details of the results and four long-standing school records broken this year.
On Friday 9 May 2014 we laid on a great morning for our year 11 students. They all made the now traditional grand entrance along the red carpet with cheering students and admiring parents forming an excited guard of honour.
They then moved on to the theatre and enjoyed presentations from fellow students and mentors looking back over their time at Dane Court.
We wish them every success; both with the forthcoming GCSE exams and their plans for the future.
After the huge success of Annie and Grease, this year, the school production took a turn for the traditional with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Twining together three very different, and rather complex storylines, it is Shakespeare's ode to just how ridiculous we can all be when love is the prize.
While some members of the audience may have been apprehensive about getting to grips with the language, they needn't have worried; the cast were funny, charming and witty in their performances and their understanding of the play made it a triumph. From the rigid structure of the Athenian Court to the madness of the forest, every member of this relatively young cast was engaging to watch.
