On Friday 9 May 2014 we laid on a great morning for our year 11 students. They all made the now traditional grand entrance along the red carpet with cheering students and admiring parents forming an excited guard of honour.
They then moved on to the theatre and enjoyed presentations from fellow students and mentors looking back over their time at Dane Court.
We wish them every success; both with the forthcoming GCSE exams and their plans for the future.
After the huge success of Annie and Grease, this year, the school production took a turn for the traditional with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Twining together three very different, and rather complex storylines, it is Shakespeare's ode to just how ridiculous we can all be when love is the prize.
While some members of the audience may have been apprehensive about getting to grips with the language, they needn't have worried; the cast were funny, charming and witty in their performances and their understanding of the play made it a triumph. From the rigid structure of the Athenian Court to the madness of the forest, every member of this relatively young cast was engaging to watch.
On Friday 10 May our year 11 students arrived to the applause of the rest of the school as they made their way along the traditional red carpet.
Their next appointment at school will be to sit GCSE examinations.
Our annual sports day took place on Monday 9 July 2012. After the Field events (Wednesday 4 July), Pentathlon (Friday 6 July) and finally the running events and team games on Monday, the results are as follows:
First: Helsinki House
Fourth: Sorrento House
