The weather threatened to spoil our party, but at the proverbial ‘eleventh hour’ the rain abated and the students were able to process from Broadstairs Road into the school to the cheers of parents and the rest of the school. A fantastic array of beautiful dresses (and precarious, possibly painful heels) and sharp suits greeted the audience as they passed through the balloon arches into the Heart.
This year group has always been impressive; their academic capabilities have never been in doubt, but they have been real ambassadors for the school too, whether in sporting success, Business of Enterprise or simply being great fun to teach. They are also a close-knit bunch whose friendships were celebrated in a wonderful final assembly with contributions from all six forms and their mentors. As they have always been, they were a terrific audience for each other and the genuine fondness that their mentors feel for them all was clear to see. Headteacher Mr Fowler said, “This Year 11 have been a huge credit to the school in so many ways, and we are confident that they will continue to excel in their Sixth Form careers.”
We are really looking forward to welcoming the majority back into the sixth form in September to start the next stage of their education and we also wish those who are leaving for pastures new every success. We are sure that the foundations of a great future have been established at Dane Court and we are inordinately proud of all of them.
