one of those houses is called Helsinki...
Helsinki is the name of the capital of Finland...
and Finland is the undisputed capital of crazy (some would say pointless) competitions.

Very soon you will be helping to choose your house anthem. This will be an inspiring piece of music - with or without lyrics - which becomes the "signature tune" of Helsinki house.
Those of you in year 10 and above will probably remember hearing "Barcelona" (Queen/Freddy Mercury) being played at the end of sports day in 2008 and 2009 when Barcelona house won (the sound guys missed their cue this year).

Every house at Dane Court will have an anthem, logo and mascot.
We have started by choosing the wolf as our mascot. Helsinki house members are now officially Helsinki Wolves.
Grey wolves live in north east Finland near the border with Russia. In fact they wander freely between the two countries with around 150 considered to be living mainly in Finland.
